When I was tested COVID positive, I considered it to be like any other medical
ailment. As advised by doctors, I was kept under home isolation and was on
medication for a week. But with each passing day, my condition deteriorated
and I was admitted to Yashoda Hospital, Secunderabad with SpO2 levels less
than 88%. I was immediately admitted into the ICU and was kept on Nasal
prongs.
It was a tough time for the family to make multiple hospital rounds hoping for
my quick recovery and welfare. However, there was no improvement in my
health even after being hospitalized and being on NIV Ventilator support for
nearly 10-13 days. This was followed by a tracheostomy which left me in a coma
with no food and water, living only on medication.
The treatment resulted in a slight improvement in my health. I was able to
breathe properly without any oxygen support. Even the doctors confirmed that
I was fit to be discharged and reunited with my family. But this didn’t last long,
as within a couple of days, I was diagnosed with severe pneumonia. For about
