At GMR Group, social responsibility is more than a value—it’s a way of life that resonates deeply within our organization. We take pride in recognizing individuals who embody this ethos, using their time and resources to uplift communities and drive meaningful change. One such inspiring individual is Naresh Varma, whose dedication to compassion and service exemplifies the true spirit of social responsibility.

As an Associate Manager at GMR Aerocity in Hyderabad, Naresh’s professional commitments are demanding, yet he finds purpose in extending his efforts beyond the workplace. His passion for philanthropy has driven him to actively contribute to the welfare of both people and animals in his community. Among his many initiatives, Naresh’s heartfelt visits to Gaushalas (cow shelters) stand out. He personally delivers 25 to 50 kilograms of vegetables, often sourced from Rythu Bazar vendors, to nourish the cows. This act of kindness is not merely charitable but deeply rooted in his belief in caring for all living beings.

Naresh’s compassion also touches the lives of children and patients. From 2018 to 2022, he devoted his Sundays to teaching yoga to orphaned girls at Radha Krishan Balika Bhavan in Mehdipatnam, Hyderabad. These sessions offered the children moments of mindfulness and physical well-being, fostering a sense of empowerment. His commitment to creating cleaner and healthier environments led him to actively participate in the Swachh Bharat Mission in 2017. Collaborating with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, he succeeded in clearing open garbage near a local park, directly improving the quality of life for residents.

In addition to environmental and educational efforts, Naresh has also extended his support to underserved patients in government hospitals like Niloufer, Osmania, and Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad. Navigating these institutions can often be overwhelming for impoverished patients, and Naresh dedicated countless hours to guiding them through applications and ensuring they received necessary consultations. His presence brought clarity and hope to those navigating the complexities of the healthcare system, easing their burden in moments of need.

Despite the modest scale of his contributions, Naresh’s philosophy underscores the significance of small, consistent acts of kindness. On average, he dedicates 20 hours and INR 2,000 each month to his philanthropic endeavors. “My giving acts may be small,” he reflects, “but when multiplied by others, they can change the world. I am happy to contribute in my humble way.”

Naresh’s story is a powerful reminder of the profound impact of compassion, no matter the scale of the gesture. His tireless efforts have created ripples of positive change, enriching lives and inspiring others to act.

His unwavering dedication to making a difference aligns seamlessly with GMR Group’s vision of fostering a brighter, more inclusive future for all. Supporting and celebrating champions like Naresh is both our privilege and a reaffirmation of our commitment to driving meaningful change—one individual and one community at a time.
