Mactan-Cebu International Airport, Philippines
The Mactan-Cebu International Airport (“MCIA”) serves as a vital gateway to the Visayas and Mindanao regions in the Philippines. As the country’s second busiest airport, MCIA continues to accommodate an expanding number of travellers, including both tourists and business professionals.
GMR, in partnership with Megawide Construction Corporation, has played a key role in the development and operations of MCIA, significantly enhancing its infrastructure and passenger experience since 2014. In October 2024, GMR completed the transfer of its entire stake in Aboitiz InfraCapital Cebu Airport Corporation (the operator of MCIA) to Aboitiz InfraCapital Inc. However, GMR will continue to operate as the technical service provider to MCIA until December 2026, reinforcing its commitment to operational excellence and MCIA’s growth as a major regional aviation hub.
